As a mom of two delightful daughters I can attest to the fact that motherhood is the most rewarding - and most difficult - job in the world. With this in mind, I am launching a new portrait project: ‘Motherhood Redefined’.
Motherhood Redefined: A Celebration
My studio is now accepting applications for 30 women to join me in a one-of-a-kind experience celebrating your life, your family, and your story. Following acceptance of the application, your Maternity Photoshoot will be scheduled and unique images of amazing you created! At the culmination of the project, participants will be honored with a special exhibit and party in February, 2023, to reveal our new definition of magnificent modern motherhood!

MY STYLE
My photography studio in Evanston is a safe haven for creative work, a boutique natural light space designed to bring out a natural, elegant style of photography. As ana artist, the creative ideas I bring to my maternity photography is a fashion look exuding sophistication and grace. As a maternity photographer, I create heirloom wall art and portfolios, allowing you to treasure this profound season for the rest of your life.
Having enjoyed an international career in Design & Architecture, I became a mom myself in 2002. When my daughter came into the world I began a delgihfult transition to my greater calling and passion that I needed to pursue, motherhood.
Over the years I have been blessed with photography skills to empower every woman I encounter. Through the art of image-creating and photography I bring women back to an innocent appreciation of their wonderful calling, helping women to see themselves through my eyes. Through this time together, women turn their focus away from perceived flaws and place their focus on the unique, profound individual that they are.
CONSULTATION
All maternity sessions are tailored specifically to you, and include a consultation session with me. You will have the opportunity to look through various style options, and we will discuss ideas on posing, lighting, wardrobe, and style. Working closely with you I will listen to your desires and expectations to make sure that your vision becomes a reality. Once your session is booked, I will create a custom ‘Look Book’ as well as send my Maternity Guide with plenty of tips on how to prepare for your photo session.
WARDROBE
If you are anything like me, you may struggle to decide what to wear on a regular day, so finding the perfect outfit for your Maternity photography session could be tricky! I want you to look and feel your best at your session so I have collated a Maternity Style Guide to help you choose that perfect outfit. AFter we book your session, I will send the guide to you and we will design a photography session that will help you to look and feel like the elegant momma that you are!
My studio wardrobe has been carefully curated to include a wide selection of maternity gowns, form-fitting dresses, lace robes, and silk draping for use during your photography session. Professional hair and makeup artistry will bring about stunning portraits; these services are included in my package, providing touch-ups and various wardrobe changes for your ultimate photoshoot experience.
YOUR MATERNITY SESSION
Momma, sit back and relax! I am here to bring my artistry into reality with you in the studio. Even if this is your first professional photography session, my aim is to ensure you feel comfortable, beautiful, confident, and empowered. Throughout your personalized photo shoot wI will guide you on posing, wardrobe and more while providing a luxurious day of pampering.

Professional photo retouching is included in your session. We specialize in the most comprehensive and detailed editing, focusing on creating a natural look and presenting authentic, amazing you looking your best!
DISPLAYING YOUR ART
Horizon Photography offers high quality fine art prints, hand-crafted Folio Boxes, gorgeous gallery wraps, and elegant framed wall collections for a spectacular presentation of your most beautiful memories. These are heirloom collections created in Europe, and available only to the trades.
GALLERY EXHIBITION
This is a time to celebrate you! Who you are today and how your life is priceless, irreplaceable, and vibrant. We are multifaceted individuals and photography brings an opportunity to show our more glamorous selves that we need to embrace.
At the completion of the project, we will gather for a Motherhood Redefined exhibition, complete with soirée that celebrates you and all of the delightful mothers. Our gallery will be filled with 30 stunning portraits that we create together.
MATERNITY WARDROBE IDEAS
Keeping your beautiful body in mind.
The photoshoot is all about highlighting you and your body, so we will be sure help you select wardrobe looks for pregnancy that will show off your curves and compliment your body. Depending on what your preference is, you can choose to wear body-hugging clothes that show off your bump, or you can choose flowing fabrics. You can even go for something that gives you the best of both worlds and highlights your figure but still allows for movement within the sleeves and skirt.
As we walk through your wardrobe option and design your photo session looks, we will select colors, fabrics, and clothes that compliment your personality, skin tone, and hair coloring. As a photographer, I have an eye for balancing the complementary and contrasting elements, so I can help you design the perfect session!
Simple is best.
Maternity photographs are the best keepsake and are an amazing way to show your child later on in life how beautiful they were as they grew. For this reason I create many natural looks using whites, nudes, and soft, muted colors, as well as light floral patterns. What it comes down to it, your beauty if timeless and YOU never go out of style!
If your partner and other kids will be present at your maternity photo session, we will work to complement their wardrobe with yours. We will decide on your looks first, then use that as the basis for color schemes and clothing styles for your family.
SCHEDULING
Maternity sessions are best captured between 24 and 32 weeks, but if your schedule does not allow for this timing, I will be sure to find the perfect day for you. Friends and family who would like to contribute to the session can do so, and this also applies to products such as heirloom prints, albums, and portfolio boxes. As a mother myself I also know from personal experience how delightful this gift can be!
